Buying agricultural products should pay attention to several time concepts
According to the consumer protection guidelines issued by the China Consumers Association, farmers and herders should be aware of key timeframes when purchasing agricultural products. These regulations aim to ensure fair treatment and quality assurance for rural consumers.
Under the "Three Guarantees" policy, if a product fails during its warranty period, the repairer is required to fix the issue and ensure normal use within 40 days from the date of repair. All repair records must be accurately documented, and the seller must provide a free replacement with the same model and specifications for farmers and herders.
For issues occurring within 15 days of purchase, if a product experiences a safety or performance failure, farmers and herders have the right to request a replacement or repair. The seller must comply with their choice and handle the matter promptly.
If an internal combustion engine, tractor, combine harvester, or agricultural transport vehicle fails within 15 days of purchase, farmers and herders may request a refund, and the seller is obligated to process it free of charge. This rule also applies to other products that suffer from similar failures within the same timeframe, allowing consumers to return the goods without cost.
During the busy farming season, if a machine such as a combine harvester, tractor, or planter breaks down, and the fault can be easily fixed within the service network, the repair should be completed within 2 days. If the issue cannot be resolved quickly, it must be fixed within 5 days. Outside of service centers, the seller is responsible for repairs during peak seasons and should agree on terms with the farmer or herder at the time of sale.
