Recently, we signed up our now-not-so-baby-anymore, Baby Blue, for swimming lessons. To say she’s enjoying them would be an understatement—she absolutely loves every second of it!
With her natural affinity for water, she’s thriving in the pool, even when someone’s guiding her through exercises. It’s clear she feels right at home splashing around.
Of course, Baby Blue didn’t miss the chance to strike up a friendship with the other kids in her class. There’s one little girl who seems particularly fond of splashing, and they’ve been having tons of fun tossing water droplets back and forth. It’s adorable to watch!
Now, here’s something practical: If she ever falls into our pool again—which, let’s face it, happens more often than I’d like during those endless summer afternoons—I want her to feel confident enough to get herself to the edge. She’s already so cautious around the pool, and we’re always nearby supervising, but accidents happen. The goal is for her to know exactly what to do if she finds herself in that situation.
On the bright side, I’ll never leave her unattended while practicing this skill. Safety first, always! Progressing gradually under supervision will ensure she learns without unnecessary risks.
She’s progressing so quickly that it’s hard to believe how far she’s come since day one. Watching her confidence grow makes me realize how important these lessons truly are—not just for fun, but for safety too.
