Plow installation and adjustment
1. The single-acting plow is connected to the tractor by hanging it on the drawbar using the draw pins. This ensures a secure and stable connection during operation, allowing the plow to follow the tractor smoothly as it moves through the field.
2. Plow Adjustment and Operation
(1) Adjusting the plow's soil entry angle and depth: To adjust the depth of tillage, rotate the plow depth control lever. Turning it clockwise reduces both the soil entry angle and the depth of plowing, while turning it counterclockwise increases them. This allows for fine-tuning based on soil conditions and desired results.
(2) Adjusting the tillage width: The tillage width can be adjusted by moving the width adjustment lever left or right. This causes the plow body to swing accordingly, thus changing the width of the furrow being created. Additionally, the track width of the tractor can be modified to further optimize the working width.
(3) Partial traction adjustment: If the tractor tends to drift to one side during operation, this is known as partial traction. This usually happens when the two adjustment bolts on the drawbar are not properly set, causing the tractor to pull unevenly. If the tractor leans to the left, tighten the right adjustment bolt and loosen the left one slightly. Conversely, if it leans to the right, adjust the left bolt and loosen the right. After making these adjustments, ensure that the bolt head and drawbar maintain a clearance of approximately 1.5 mm, then lock the nut securely to prevent any movement during use.
3. Important Notes to Keep in Mind
(1) In dry farming conditions, where the soil is harder, it’s best to operate the plow in first or second gear. However, in paddy fields with wet and soft soil, using second or third gear is more appropriate to avoid excessive strain on the machinery.
(2) If there is a sudden increase in resistance during plowing and the driving wheels start slipping severely, lift the plow slightly to pass through the affected area. If the slippage is not too bad, you can increase the throttle. If that doesn’t help, shift down to a lower gear to maintain better control and traction.
(3) When making turns or reversing, always reduce the throttle and lift the plow slightly to prevent damage to the equipment and ensure smooth maneuverability. This helps protect both the plow and the tractor from unnecessary stress during directional changes.
By following these guidelines, operators can ensure efficient and safe plowing operations, while also extending the lifespan of their agricultural equipment.
