Quick start fermentation bed method

Starting a pig fermentation bed quickly and effectively is a common concern among users. The functional bacteria in the Jinbao sty pig fermentation bed auxiliary materials are ideal for normal startup temperatures between 10-15°C. Some customers ask whether they need to add active agents or not, depending on the bacterial activity. Newly produced fermentation bed strains usually have high activity and may not require additional agents. However, after prolonged use, the bacterial efficacy may decrease, so it's advisable to use some active agents when necessary. Regardless of whether you use active agents or not, there are several important precautions to take when starting the Jinbao fermentation bed:

1) Start with pig manure and urine. This method is also known as "starting with the occasion." Once the fermentation bedding material is prepared, remove the bedding from a few square meters where the pigs prefer to urinate. Wait 20–30 minutes, and when the pigs defecate, collect the fresh, hot urine and mix it with the golden baby fermentation aid. Stir thoroughly and cover with sawdust bedding. Fresh feces from pigs have a body temperature above 30°C, which provides the functional microbes with heat energy to begin fermentation quickly. This process is fast and effective, often resulting in noticeable warming within two to three days. When the temperature exceeds 40°C, move it to the edges and evenly distribute it to promote fermentation across the entire bed. This allows the whole pigsty to start fermenting rapidly.

2) Pre-wet with warm water. After laying the bedding, spray the litter with warm water at around 30–40°C. It’s best to directly heat the water to that temperature rather than boiling it and cooling it down again. Adding Jinbao fermentation aids into the litter can further speed up the fermentation process.

3) Preheat the indoor area. Before setting up the bedding, use fire, air conditioning, or steam to raise the indoor temperature to 15–25°C. Then proceed with spreading the bedding and broadcasting the Golden Bacteria Fermentation Strains. This helps create an optimal environment for microbial activity right from the start.
