Golden mushroom cultivation material is a good helper

Flammulina, commonly known as golden needle mushroom, is not only a delicious and flavorful ingredient but also a nutritious food that supports overall health. The global market for Flammulina velutipes has been expanding rapidly, both domestically and internationally. Unlike most plants, Flammulina does not contain chlorophyll and cannot perform photosynthesis. It relies entirely on absorbing pre-formed organic compounds from its growing medium. This unique characteristic allows it to thrive in complete darkness, making it an ideal candidate for controlled indoor cultivation. Using agricultural by-products to grow Flammulina is an efficient and cost-effective approach that helps reduce production expenses while improving economic returns for farmers. However, during the preparation of cultivation materials, if the fermentation process is too slow or the temperature is too low, it can significantly affect the quality of the substrate and the overall efficiency of the production cycle, which ultimately reduces profitability. So, how can we speed up the fermentation of the cultivation material? One effective solution is to use Tribol’s starter, a microbial culture that accelerates the decomposition of organic matter, making the process faster and more efficient. This method is not only convenient but also highly practical for mushroom growers. When preparing the cultivation material for Flammulina velutipes, you can choose one of the following formulations based on your available resources and preferences: 1. 50 kg of corn cobs, 1 kg of superphosphate, 1 kg of gypsum powder, 0.1 kg of urea, 100 g of 50% carbendazim, and sufficient water. 2. 100 kg of corn straw powder, 5–10 kg of wheat bran, 3 kg of bean cake powder, 0.5 kg of urea, 1 kg of superphosphate, 0.1 kg of magnesium sulfate, 5 kg of lime, and 200–220 kg of water. 3. 100 kg of wheat straw, 1 kg of gypsum, 1 kg of phosphate fertilizer, 0.5 kg of urea, 2.5 kg of quicklime, and 120–140 kg of water. 4. 89% cottonseed hulls, 10% bran, and 1–2% lime. The preparation process involves cutting the main materials—such as corn cobs, corn stalks, cottonseed hulls, and wheat straw—into small pieces (2–3 cm in length). Then, add rice bran, other additives, and lime powder. Next, mix in about 5% of Tribol’s starter and thoroughly combine everything. Add water until the moisture content reaches around 65%. To check, squeeze the mixture with your hand; it should feel moist but not drip. After 7–10 days, when the material turns brown, becomes soft and flexible, and emits a distinct, pleasant aroma, it is fully fermented and ready for use. This method ensures that nutrients and moisture are preserved throughout the fermentation process, while maintaining optimal humidity and pH levels. As a result, the fermentation is more effective, leading to better-quality substrates and higher yields in Flammulina cultivation.
