How to make broilers healthy in summer

The hot summer weather caused intense heat stress to the flock, reduced the intake of broilers, slowed the weight gain, weakened the resistance, increased the mortality rate, and reduced the breeding efficiency. So, how should we raise broilers in the summer? It has been proved that in order to achieve the maximum economic benefits of broiler production, the chicken house temperature should be reduced, in addition to adjusting the structure of the diet, changing the feeding methods, improving the health of chicken coops, and strengthening the prevention and control of epidemic diseases. It is the foundation and key to broiler breeding. Good chicken house cooling measures can provide a comfortable growth environment for broilers, increase the feed intake of broilers, increase feed remuneration, and accelerate the growth of broilers. It can also increase the resistance of broilers, reduce the occurrence of epidemics, and reduce aquaculture losses. As we all know, broiler breeding must be aimed at pursuing maximum economic efficiency. Therefore, the broiler housing should be cooled, with the principles of application, convenience, and economy, and resources such as wind, light, electricity, and water should be fully utilized. Different technical measures should be adopted to achieve the desired cooling target. . 1. Ventilation and cooling. Close the doors and windows of the chicken house before the temperature rises in the morning. Open the doors and windows before the night temperatures drop. Open all the windows and doors inside and outside the house to improve the quality of air in the house. Ceiling fans should be installed in the house to cool down the air. 2. Shade cooling. When constructing a chicken house, two rows of poplars are planted on each side of the house. The tree is about 1.5 meters away from the house, and the row spacing is 3 meters. After the poplars grow into forests, the luxuriant poplar trees cover the sunlight that can be used to shed the chicken house. Chicken house temperature 3 °C ~ 8 °C, can improve the small environment around the house. Plants such as creepers and loofahs can also be planted to allow these plants to cover the roof, allowing the plants to “protect” the animals and establish an environment in which animals and plants can “coexist in peace”, generally lowering the house temperature by 2°C to 3°C. Shade nets can also be used to cool the sunshade. The sunshade nets must be more than 50cm above the roof of the chicken house. The bamboo nets and wooden poles should be used to support and fix the sunshade nets to prevent the windshield and rain from damaging the shade nets and generate noise and affect the growth of broilers. 3. Shower curtain cooling. Set the air curtain at the air inlet to allow the hot air to cool and then enter the chicken house. The lower end of the curtain must not be lower than the height of the chicken bed, and the width of the curtain can be narrower than the width of the house. The other end of the house is equipped with an exhaust fan. When the curtain is used, it can be opened before the temperature rises and closed after cooling in the afternoon. In this way, the temperature can be reduced by 3°C to 6°C. 4. Water cooling. The drought-resistant plastic water hose is spread over the broiler chicken bed and spread in an S-shape in the direction of the chicken house. The distance between the water hoses is determined according to the width of the chicken bed and the density of the broilers. Generally, the distance between two water belts should be more than 70 cm. When the temperature of the chicken house exceeds the growth temperature of broilers, it begins to fill the water zone with groundwater. The higher the temperature, the more water in the water zone will be maintained, and the faster the groundwater will flow. When the temperature in the house is high, the broilers are close to the hose and can save money. Generally can reduce the temperature around 10 °C, but also keep the house dry. Broiler farmers can use one or several cooling measures to achieve the cooling effect while minimizing investment and reducing costs based on broiler age, breeding density, housing environment, and existing conditions.
