Propagation is commonly done through cuttings, which can be taken during spring, summer, and autumn. Cuttings should be taken from semi-lignified stems, about 3-4 sections long. To encourage root growth, one or two sections should be buried in river sand, ensuring good contact and moisture. Roots usually develop within 1-2 weeks, and once the plants reach 20-30 cm in height, they can be transplanted. Transplanting can be done year-round except in winter. Additionally, rhizome division during the growing season is another effective propagation method. For successful cultivation, Vinca prefers loose, humus-rich sandy loam soil. When grown in pots, a mix of leaf mold and river sand works well. Multiple plants can be potted together, and pruning the central shoot encourages faster growth. Regular pinching of the growing tips throughout the season promotes bushier growth. Adventitious roots can form on the nodes, helping the vines spread more quickly. During the growing season, keep the soil consistently moist and apply liquid fertilizer 1-3 times a month to maintain vigorous growth and bright green foliage. While Vinca prefers bright light, it should be protected from intense midday sun to avoid leaf burn. A semi-shaded environment is ideal. Though it thrives in warmth, Vinca is also cold-hardy and can tolerate temperatures around 0°C in winter. With its strong adaptability and fast growth, Vinca remains visually appealing all year round, except during colder months. Its elegant blue flowers bloom amidst dense green foliage, making it a stunning addition to gardens and indoor spaces.
