Management of meat ducks

High-bed net meat-raising ducks are reared in pure housing, and full-quality, high-quality feed must be supplied throughout the growth stage of the duck. Two-stage nutrition is generally used. Ducklings for the first stage (within 3 weeks of age): crude protein 20%, metabolic energy 2.8 megacal/kg, calcium 1.0%, available phosphorus 0.5%; second stage growth fertiliser (4 weeks old till slaughter) : Crude protein 16.7%, Metabolisable Energy 3.0 Mcal/Kg, Calcium 1.2%, Available Phosphorus 0.45%. Appropriate amounts of vitamins and trace elements should also be added to the feed to prevent disease caused by duck nutrient deficiency.

Immediately after the ducklings were served, they were sent to a brooding net bed at a temperature of 32°C to 33°C. They were fed with drinking water supplemented with various vitamins and electrolytes in a timely manner. After drinking, the ducklings could start to feed and feed.

The temperature ranged from 1 day to 3 days at 32°C to 33°C, from 4 days to 7 days at 28°C to 30°C. After 8 days of age, the temperature decreased by 1°C per day. Illumination from 1 day to 7 days of age was 24 hours of full illumination, from 8 days of age to slaughter of 23 hours of light per day, 1 hour of dark adaptation, so as to increase their free intake time as much as possible.

Drink water continuously throughout the day, free water.

Density brooding period 25 to 30 per square meter, growth and fattening period of 7 to 10 per square meter.
